After much ministry, Jesus calls His disciples to rest. After reaching the desolate place to rest, a crowd is waiting for them, and out of great compassion, Jesus teaches them. After teaching them all day, the disciples tell Jesus to send them away to eat. They do not trust in Jesus’ provision and do not have the same compassion toward these people. Jesus miraculously feeds the 5000, pointing all to Himself as the greater Moses/Elisha, and Good Shepherd.
