SUMMARY
We’ve spent this whole series looking at the imperfections of the disciples. Today, we’re going to be looking at the beautiful disciple: Mary. This story shows us that it’s not about how much we can do for Jesus, but cherishing and enjoying who Christ is and what He has done for us.
CENTRAL TRUTH
“Let us cling to the good portion: Christ Himself.”
POINTS
(1) The Sisters
(2) The Sin
(3) The Savior
REFLECTIVE QUESTIONS
(1) How often do we find ourselves like Martha in our lives? In the church?
(2) What is Jesus saying about our anxieties and troubles in our passage?
(3) How can we choose the good portion like Mary?

PRAYER TOPICS
Season of Thanksgiving
Philippians 4 says that we are to give thanks, not because of everything but in everything. We don't need reasons to give thanks to God. He has given us the breath we breathe. He has given us eternal life through the Son. Most importantly, He has given us Himself. Let us give thanks unto the Lord.
Season of Advent
Soon, we will enter into the season of Advent as we look forward to Christmas, remembering the first coming of Christ. We remember why Jesus has come and what He has accomplished through His coming. In addition to this important truth, we also remember His second coming. We pray for Jesus to come and restore all things to Himself for His glory. May these two comings of Christ guide our prayers during this season.
WORSHIP
Pray for the corporate and private worship of our people. Let us worship the Lord together on Sundays and in our everyday lives through our thoughts, actions, and words. May our corporate worship inspire our private worship, and may our private worship prepare our hearts for our corporate worship.
