On the night before His death, Jesus washes the disciples’ feet, an act of great humility. Peter responds by initially refusing Jesus’ service, but Jesus says that refusing the act is refusing fellowship with Christ. Through this profound act of service, Jesus teaches His disciples about His ultimate act of service on the cross and the call for God’s people to serve one another.
