The Vanity of Self-Indulgence
King Solomon talks about the vanity of pleasure and self-indulgence in our passage today. He searched after it in laughter, alcohol (drugs), success, entertainment, possessions, and riches. Our world tempts us with the same deceit. And yet, he calls it all vanity and a striving after the wind. The only true lasting pleasure and joy are found in the presence and glory of God in Christ.
