Because of sin, we see God threatening to leave Israel in Exodus 33. However, in God’s grace, He promises His presence in that chapter and shows Moses His glory in ch. 34. The tabernacle is the means through which God is present and shows His glory before Israel. This glory can only be accessed by way of sacrifice. John 1:14 shows us that Jesus is the ultimate tabernacle, where we encounter the presence and glory of God. And it’s His sacrifice that paves the way for us to enter such glory.
