He Stood Condemned

Even after the book of Acts, we see Peter falling into sin. Paul rebukes Peter publicly for his hypocrisy. God showed Peter the grace of the gospel in Acts 10, and he defended it in Acts 11. However, he compromised the gospel (justification by faith alone) due to fearing the circumcision party. He lived as if salvation comes by faith and works (ceremonial law observance, circumcision), and it influenced others, making the Gentiles feel like second-class Christians. This passage shows us that we are saved by grace, and we live by grace. This not only affects our conduct but our community. We are able to do this through Christ who died for our freedom.
